About Theunis Claassen

Theunis Claassen is a senior associate in Bowmans’ tax practice, where he specialises in tax dispute resolution, international and domestic corporate tax and exchange control. He has advised banks and financial institutions on a variety of tax disputes and issues associated with structured financing and preference share funding. He holds accounting and law degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, an LLM in commercial law and a master's of commerce in international tax, both from the University of Cape Town. He is admitted to the Law Society of South Africa and is a registered tax practitioner.
