About Pedro Ferreira Malaquias

Pedro Ferreira Malaquias has been a partner at Uría Menéndez since 2004 and heads the banking and insurance department. He focuses on banking and insurance law, securities and securitisation of credits. Pedro has over 30 years of experience advising domestic and foreign companies on all legal aspects related to retail and investment banks, advice on repos, securities lending, derivative transactions, including credit derivatives, advice and assistance on negotiating insurance contracts on project finance and structured finance transactions. He is a legal consultant for the Portuguese Banking Association and acts as its representative on the Legal Committee of the European Banking Federation and is a member of the European Financial Markets Lawyers Group sponsored by the European Central Bank.
