About Takefumi Sato

Takefumi Sato is a partner specialising primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution proceedings for both domestic and international clients. His experience covers a broad range of disputes, such as securities litigation, M&A and joint venture-related disputes, franchise business lawsuits, disputes over control of a company, and defective product lawsuits. He also has broad experience in the areas of labour and employment, including strategic advice in a pre-dispute phase, negotiation with protesting employees, handling lawsuits, preliminary injunctions and labour tribunals, and advising on collective bargaining with labour unions and the revision of company rules. Takefumi is also dedicated to teaching activities, currently serving as an adjunct lecturer at University of Tokyo’s Graduate Schools for Law and Politics. He received his LLB from University of Tokyo in 1999 and was admitted to the Bar in Japan in 2000.
