About James Bartolo

James Bartolo assists GVZH Advocates’ clients in obtaining a Maltese igaming licence and oversees any licence status changes and filing of regulatory notifications, including changes in ownership structures, licence surrenders, amendments to Key Function role holders and Recognition Notice certificates. After four years at the Malta Gaming Authority as a Licensing Officer, James is noted for his knowledge and experience in reviewing ownership structures, gathering due diligence documentation, assessing source of wealth and source of funds, escalating high-risk applications to the internal Fit & Proper Committee and Supervisory Council Committee, and reviewing company business plans and policies and procedures. He also assists clients obtain authorisation for financial services from the Malta Financial Services Authority.
