About Julio Alvarez Ortega

Julio Alvarez Ortega is a partner of the labour, employment and social security practice at Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C. He has broad experience representing national and transnational clients in all legal aspects of their labour relationships in Mexico. These include the design of employment structures, preventative and corrective counsel with regard to compliance of employment obligations, labour reorganisations derived from M&A, spin-offs, reductions in force and other structural changes. Julio also advises on bargaining processes with unions, modification of terms of employment, transfer of employees, termination of employment relationships, counsel with respect to subcontracting of personnel, attention to audits followed by labour authorities, as well as advice in connection with “maquila” (duty free, tariff free) arrangements.
