About Cátia Fernandes

Cátia Fernandes is the founder of CF – Maritime Legal Services. With two decades of background in maritime law and ship finance, she has vast experience in providing services to international companies. Cátia acts as legal adviser in relevant cross-border transactions on behalf of international ship-owners, banks and leasing entities, with particular emphasis on credit facilities secured by mortgages registered in Madeira. She also assists clients in other shipping-related matters including regulatory, crewing, labour and tax. Cátia often participates in seminars and conferences on maritime law and is involved in projects and legislative initiatives concerning maritime issues in Portugal.
