About Fernando Blanco Giraldo

Fernando Blanco Giraldo is the founding partner of B&A and head of the insurance law department. Fernando is highly specialised in insurance and reinsurance matters, particularly regarding dispute resolution. He is one of the most renowned lawyers in the insurance field in Spain. As such, he has advised some of the largest insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage companies, as well as multinationals in complex and delicate matters. He has also been involved in significant claims above EUR100 million, and most of the cases he participates in are high profile with large economic values at stake. Fernando is one of the few lawyers who has taught specific sections on insurance law to Spanish judges and magistrates. In the past 30 years, he has published numerous books on insurance, and part of the Supreme case law has been created based on his interpretation of clauses regarding complex and controversial losses.
