About José Tomás Barrueto

José Tomás Barrueto is a partner at Bertrand-Galindo Barrueto Barroilhet Abogados in Santiago, Chile, and co-heads the firm’s mining, energy and natural resources department. From 2012 to 2013, he was a visiting lawyer at Dechert LLP, New York. José concentrates his practice on mining and energy law, environmental law, sanctioning and judicial proceedings, administrative law, corporate law and project development. He also worked at the Chilean Environmental Assessment Agency and the National Commission of the Environment. He holds a JD from Universidad de los Andes and an LLM from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Law School. He is a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and the Chilean–German Chamber of Commerce.
