About José María Olivares Blanco

José María Olivares Blanco is a partner at finReg. He has been advising on banking, securities, and insurance regulations for more than 20 years. Before joining finReg, he worked in the financial regulation departments of Baker & McKenzie, Deloitte Legal (Spain) and Garrigues. His main areas of practice are banking, payment services and AML/CTF regulations, and he also has substantial experience in market abuse, MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD and cryptocurrencies. José-María has a special focus on cross-border regulatory matters, and on enforcement and sanctioning procedures. He is a lecturer at Universidad Carlos III, Madrid (on compliance and transnational liability) and for the Masters in Internet Business run by ISDI.
