About David Geral

David Geral is a partner of Bowmans based in Johannesburg and is the head of its banking and financial services regulatory practice. He sits on the leadership team of the firm’s multi-practice Fintech Service Line. David has advised on several initial coin offerings (ICOs) and the establishment of digital token exchanges, and he advises on digital financial services compliance (marketing, distribution and intermediation). In addition to a BA and LLB from the University of Cape Town, David holds a certificate in Impact Investing in Africa and is a leading attorney in relation to impact investing, social impact bonds and environmental, social and governance-related (ESG) investing in South Africa.
