Sugandha Somani Gopal is a partner at JSA. She has over ten years of experience in India’s energy and infrastructure sectors. Her focus areas are climate change, climate finance, clean technology, urban infrastructure, transport and public private partnerships. She is engaged regularly on all aspects – contractual, commercial, policy, regulatory and compliance – arising in power (generation, transmission, distribution and trading) and infrastructure projects (airports, ports, highways, high-speed rail) in India. She has regularly advised various government agencies at the central and state level as well as financial institutions and development banks on the regulatory and legal framework suitable to promote infrastructure development. She played a key role in launching Carbon Registry-India, India’s first carbon trading platform.
