About Joaquim Caimoto Duarte

Joaquim Caimoto Duarte is an of counsel at TELLES and focuses on European and competition law. He has more than 20 years' experience as a competition lawyer and has advised companies in a wide range of sectors, including pharmaceuticals, banking, insurance, air transport, motor vehicle, energy, telecommunications, media and retail. Joaquim has been involved as lead counsel in the most relevant merger control cases in Portugal over the last decade, and in infringement proceedings for abusive conduct, cartels and other restrictive practices before the Portuguese Competition Authority, the European Commission and the European Court of Justice. He is a founding member of the Portuguese Competition Lawyers Association (Círculo dos Advogados Portugueses de Direito da Concorrência).
