About Gabriela Álvarez Ávila

Gabriela Álvarez Ávila focuses her practice on international arbitration as well as international and investment law. She is experienced in complex and high-stakes transactions related to infrastructure projects, banking, electricity, telecommunications, and oil and gas. Gabriela has represented states, governmental entities and state-owned companies in international arbitrations under numerous arbitration rules, including those of the ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA and CAM. Gabriela was designated in the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators by Mexico and was recently appointed as a member of the ICC Court of Arbitration for Mexico. She teaches International Investment Arbitration at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) and speaks frequently on international investment and commercial arbitration.
