Alejandro Cofiño
has extensive experience in banking and finance, and leads matters in diverse industry sectors, like IPOs, project and corporate finance, start-ups, environmental matters and cross-border commercial transactions. He has been recently involved in Rule 144A/Regulation S private offerings and the development and financing of power projects, and advised international and local environmental organisations on the viability and implementation of a REDD+ project at the Reserva de la Biosfera Maya, one of the largest natural reserves in Central America. Alejandro is dual-qualified to practise in Guatemala and New York, and teaches financial law and common law systems at several law schools in Guatemala. He frequently acts as arbitrator for local and international commercial disputes, and also as counsel in arbitration procedures, including a recent ICC dispute matter.
