About Tiago Arouca Mendes

Tiago Arouca Mendes is an international consultant at Morais Leitão; he joined in 2014 and has since been working at HRA Advogados in Maputo. He advises (mainly foreign) clients on restructuring processes, mergers, demergers, acquisitions of interests in Mozambique or financing operations. He also assists clients throughout the complete business life cycle, from the approval of foreign investment projects to corporate and exchange control, the hiring of expatriates and labour law, pre-litigation and winding-up and/or insolvency procedures. Tiago has advised across different sectors, including banking, energy (renewable and non-renewable), insurance, real estate and construction. He is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association (admitted in 2017), the Mozambique Bar Association (admitted in 2016) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
