About Ricardo Oliveira

Ricardo Oliveira is head of PLMJ’s EU and competition law practice. He has 25 years’ experience in European law and competition, with a focus on defending companies in cartel cases and cases of abuse of a dominant position. Ricardo also specialises in competition litigation, merger control, state aid and implementation of compliance programmes, in addition to EU law and litigation. His particular expertise lies in the areas of insurance, transport, energy, media, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and financial services, where he counts some of the leading international companies in each industry among his clients. Ricardo has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and an LLM in European Law from the College of Europe in Bruges. Ricardo worked in the office of the President of the General Court of the European Union in Luxembourg and at the EC in Brussels prior to joining PLMJ.
