About Matthias Kampshoff

Matthias Kampshoff co-heads McDermott’s restructuring and insolvency team in Germany. He focuses his practice on restructuring and insolvency situations and has extensive experience in advising companies, directors, investors and insolvency administrators, as well as creditors in crisis and insolvency. He is particularly skilled at guiding companies through self-administration and assisting in distressed M&A transactions. Matthias offers extensive expertise in the retail and automotive industries. One of his recent highlights includes advising GALERIA Karstadt Kaufhof group, the largest department store chain in Germany, in its insolvency plan proceedings as well as the financing by the German Wirtschaftsstabilisierungsfonds. In addition, he is advising Hakle and the Borgers group during their insolvency proceedings.
