James MacLellan is a partner in the BLG Construction Group. He is recognised as one of the leading surety bonding practitioners in Canada. The majority of his practice is spent on advising sureties on complex insolvency, litigation, workouts, and risk mitigation matters. He acts as lead surety counsel in the largest construction defaults across Canada. James has appeared on surety law matters in the Supreme Court of Canada and Courts of Appeal in Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta, and in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland.
