John Syekei
is a partner in the Nairobi office and heads the intellectual property and technology practice group in East Africa. His practice areas cover commercial intellectual property, fintech, technology law, e-commerce, payments, advertising law and litigation, data privacy, advice on drafting and/or negotiation of information technology agreements, and advice on the protection and enforcement of trade mark, patent, copyright and industrial designs. John is a member of the advisory council of Innovation Law Club Africa (ILCA), the International Trademark Association East Africa (INTA), the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Trade Mark Association, World Trademark Review (WTR) and the American Chambers of Commerce (AMCHAM). His recent publications include four guides on fintech in Kenya.
